- the writing code, spelling, punctuation, grammar, lexis, linking words, background knowledge, text type, the aim, the audience, the size.

What did you write in your own /foreign language
in the last 48 hours? Make one list.
Look at your list. For three of your items say the following:
the aim (e.g. to remind of, to inform)
the audience (the person who read it)
the genre, or text type (e.g. shopping list, personal letter)

Look at examples of writing activities from coursebooks. Identify four
different characteristics for each writing activity.

Choose one of the writing activities from the previous step. What
would you do to prepare your learners for writing? Think about:
- introducing the topic of your writing activity
- introducing helpful language
- get the learners interested in the topic

Design a post-writing activity for your learners, practising another skill
(e.g.
speaking)
