Grassroots Entrepreneur Missionaries are Certified “GEM”s!

GEMs are entrepreneurs who create and lead a volunteer “Mission” that makes the world better.  

The role of the Grassroots Entrepreneur Mission is to inspire, validate and support GEMs.  

Berkeley, (the fictional) Simone Samuels has all the skills to be an entrepreneur.  The tech job market was white hot in her local community, the San Francisco Bay Area, but she just wasn't ready to jump into the grind.  She wanted to build a computer lab for a local public senior citizens complex but she worried about her resume and about the money for the lab.
Within 1 week, Simone received the 100 Facebook Likes required as part of the validation for her GEM Mission. This quick validation caught the eyes of the official GEM Curators and she soon received the 3 official Curator endorsements she needed for her Certificate and to release the funds for her project when her fundraising is complete. So far she needs to raise just $245 to complete her fundraising.

my local Senior Citizens community center. The Center will provide the room but I need to acquire 3 computers and setup the processes for them to be maintained.

Who are the Beneficiaries?

Over 500 Seniors live in the community and we estimate that we will engage 5 Seniors to manage the lab on an ongoing basis and that 15% of the community, 75 different Senior Residents, will use the lab each year.

Why does this inspire me as an entrepreneur?

My Grandma lives in the community and she is unable to afford and maintain a computer of her own. She has introduced me to several others in the community with the same need. I have also met two residents that say they will help to operate the lab to keep the computers up to date and secure.
