In Florida a shared joint child custody arrangement is known as

Слайд 5Best Interests of the Child
Florida courts will determine child custody arrangements

or time-sharing based on certain criteria which all revolves around the child’s best interests
Below are the factors that play into the courts decision
Both parent's willingness to encourage & support a relationship between the child and the other parent
Both parent's ability to answer the child's needs
Mental, physical, and emotional health of parents
The child's wishes (generally age 12 or older)
Child’s home environment stability
To set and honor a time-sharing schedule
History of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, child abandonment, child neglect, etc.
The parent's ability to be involved with the child's school and other activities in their life

Слайд 8Types of Child Custody
Joint custody is often the type of arrangement

favored by most judges
Both parents share custody of the child but one parent will be responsible for housing the child as the primary residence
Sole custody is when one of the parents has legal custody of the child while the other may obtain visitation rights
Shared custody in which both custody and actual residential arrangements for the children are evenly split between both parents
