Laurent Paris) is a French luxury fashion house founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé. Saint Laurent Paris revived its haute couture collection in 2015 under creative director Hedi Slimane. The new collection, "Yves Saint Laurent Couture" or "Saint Laurent Paris 24, Rue de L’Université" is the French house's first couture collection ever since the retirement of its legendary founder in 2002.
Слайд 3Competitors to Yves Saint Laurent include, among many, the fashion houses
of Chanel, Burberry, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
Слайд 4The eponymous brand was founded by designer Yves Saint Laurent and
his partner, Pierre Bergé in 1961, and the current logos were designed in 1963 by A. M. Cassandre.During the 1960s and 1970s, the firm popularized fashion trends such as the beatnik look, safari jackets for men and women, tight pants and tall, thigh-high boots, including the creation of arguably the most famous classic tuxedo suit for women in 1966, Le Smoking suit. Слайд 6Yves Saint Laurenttrial was held in Federal court in new York.
Louboutin accused the house of Yves Saint Laurent in violation of copyright trademark and "unfair competition". The scandal emerged after in the boutiques of Yves Saint Laurent in Manhattan appeared shoes with red soles. In this connection the Christian Louboutin has demanded compensation of $ 1 million from Laurent because he blatantly copied the signature red soles that are the hallmark of his shoes.
Слайд 7Аdjudication
However, the us court upheld the claim of reason, stating that
the red sole cannot be considered a trademark. Moreover, the judge stated that Christian Louboutin has not provided the court with compelling evidence that the house Yves Saint Laurent has violated the owner's copyright of the "red soles". The court decided to reject the claim, not to prohibit the sale of red-soled shoes in other brands and not to pay Louboutin a million dollars compensation.
