Police as a night watchman.
But on 8 February 1858, Gray died.
Bobby, who survived Gray by 14 years, is said to have spent the rest of his life sitting on his master’s grave.

poet, popular throughout much of the world.
His novels and poetry are still read, and many of his works remain classics of both English-language literature and Scottish literature.
